I have a linked table that now gives me 'invalid name' error when I put it in
a query or try to deleted it. I can't view any query with this table in
design mode. How do I fix this?

Have you tried to relink it? What concerns me is you still should be able
to delete it even if the link changes. I suspect you will end up running
the old database recovery steps in the end. Also not sure what you mean
when in design mode. If the table is in design mode it isn't you won't be
able to view it usually but if you mean the query in design mode it may be
the database.

Hi Salli,

Are you using Access 2007? Does any part of the path or file name of
the database that contains the actual table contain an apostrophe (')? If
so, that is a known bug. To solve the issue exit out of Access and remove
any apostrophes from the database with the actual table and from its path.
Open up the database with the table link. Go to the Linked Table Manager
(Database Tools ribbon), select the table and select "Always prompt for new
location". Click OK, choose the newly renamed path/database and click OK two
time and then Close. It should now work.

Hope this helps,
