Hi,
I have Windows 2000 on my laptop. I tried installing a few
softwares like MSN Messenger, Applications software for my
digital camera etc and I get error saying " Invalid D
Drive". The only drive I have is a C: drive and my cd-rom
drive is E: . I do not have a floppy drive nor is there a
partition on my hard disk. Any suggestion on what might be
the problem? Thank you.

Arun

Sure:

There is NO reason why the CDROM would be drive "E:" unless there was a "D:" drive at one
point. Otherwise the CDROM would be assigned drive "D:". Somewhere in the Registry is
hard coded to look at "D:" drive and since it no longer exists, you get error messages.
