Invalid agrument message came up and I have not been able
to do anything because the message comes up. The message
comes up even if I am not doing anything. Also, in the
table is a line with "error" in each field and I can not
delete the line or any field. The invalid argument
message comes up. I am a new user so please layman
terms. Thanks for your help. ron

Does the table have a memo type field in it?

Exactly when does the error occur. What tables, forms, reports,
queries, switchboards ect. are open? What is in the filed that shows
"error" Are you sure it says error on each field or is it each record? Are
you viewing the information in the table via a form and is that way all the
fields show "error" What happens if you look at the table directly?

Hi r Person,

I get the message "Invalid argument."

In the regional settings of Microsoft Windows Control Panel, your location
is set to a region that uses a character other than a period (.) as a
decimal separator. The settings for properties in data access pages require
that the decimal separator be a period for all languages. Either change the
region or set the decimal symbol to a period in Windows Control Panel
regional settings.

The value (value: The text, date, number, or logical input that completes a
condition that a field must meet for searching or filtering. For example,
the field Author with the condition equals must include a value, such as
John, to be complete.) you typed in the property sheet does not match the
data type (data type: The characteristic of a field that determines what
type of data it can hold. Data types include Boolean, Integer, Long,
Currency, Single, Double, Date, String, and Variant (default).) of the
property. For example, the Width property of a section can be set to any
number, but if you type a string such as Narrow, you will get the "Invalid
argument" message.
