hi,

our company's web server is running on a winxp pro sp2 machine. We have a
win2000 DC server. all client accounts have the same permissions and all of
them logs on to the domain.
Some of the clients in the network can access to the web server with its
name (//medya). but some of them can only access by wirting down the ip
address of the web server.(192.168.0.117).
how can i solve this?

Sounds like a DNS problem. Compare the DNS settings on the bad PCs with
those on the good PCs. DNS settings are on the Properties sheet of the
TCP/IP Properties of the Local Area Connection Properties of the Network
Connection.

all computers have automatically assigned DNS and ip settings. both good and
the bad ones. it seems to me as a name resolving problem or DHCP server
problem.

thanks for your fast reply
