internet speed

i recently got a computer brand new and have a dsl modem and when i go into
IE,AOL or any browser for that matter some pages fly when loading then others
takes FOREVER!!!!! and this computer should be well capable enough to speed
through pages if someone could help me i would greatly appreciate it if you
have possible answers as to how i could fix it or maybe im overlooking a

Web sites themselves reside on computers called Servers. They, in turn,
have their own ISP's (Internet Service Providers) or, they are their OWN
providers. Each of those computers run in what they call their own
"bandwidth". Put simply, this means that only a certain amount of
browsers (like yours) can be connected at the same time. If more than
the alloted amount are connected, almost everyone slows down. This is
somewhat simplified, but a fairly good description of what you are seeing.

The slowness on some web pages is indicated by the relative speed at
which their web pages appear at your computer. You will find fast sites
and slow to very slow sites. It's all part of the wonderful Web.

No 2 websites will load at the same rate.......the speed depends on more
than your connection speed...
Web page content
number of persons accessing same web link(traffic)
IE cache size.......
etc etc
