Dear all,
I have a Dutch computer Windows XP, Office 2003 and Internet Explorer
6.0. I use Outlook.
I have an ADSL Internet connection.
Everything is in Dutch.
The shortcuts of webpages that I made on my desktop suddenly do not
work anymore.
Before, I just doubleclicked them and the webpage would open, now it
asks with which programme I want to open it!!!!
However if I open Internet first by clicking on the small icon IE next
to the start-knob, then suddenly all shortcuts DO work properly.
What can I do to avoid this work-around?
I would love to be able to visit the Internet just by doubleclicking on
the shortcuts.
All other shortcutss (Excel etc) work properly.
I think the problem was caused after I downloaded a security update
that Microsoft told me to download by automatic Windows update. Because
after that I suddenly had this problem.
Maybe it is a coincidence....
I removed the update but there was no change.
I also did system restore to 10 October but no result.
Would appreciate your help.
I am an ordinary computeruser, not very technical.
