To share one computer's Internet connection, right-click that
connection, click Properties, click Advanced, and put a check mark in
the box "Allow other computer users to connect through this computer's
Internet connection".

That's typically done for a dial-up or USB Internet connection. For
an Ethernet connection, such as a cable modem or DSL modem, you can do
that, or you can get a broadband router to let both computers connect
to the Internet independently.

The solution that I gave should work. If you try it and find that it
doesn't work, please post a reply in the news group with details of
your Interment connection, your network setup, firewall programs on
each computer, what works, what doesn't work, full text of all error
messages, etc. The more information you give, the more likely it will
be that someone can help.
