I have a home network with two computers and a 3com hub to share a dsl internet connection. It used to work fine. But recently has stopped and I haven't a clue as to why. I can open the network and share files and printer between upstairs and downstairs computers but can only open the internet on the downstairs computer. Can anyone help me.

- Start a Command Prompt on each PC
- Run this command on each PC:
ipconfig /all
- Compare the settings with each other
- Post them here if necessary

Your upstairs computer is not getting an IP address from the downstairs
computer. I would now do this:
- Disable ICS on the downstairs PC.
- Close the network interface panel to force the change to be saved.
- Enable ICS on the downstairs PC.
- Close the network interface panel to force the change to be saved.
- Set all network adapters to 10 MBits/s until testing is complete.

You can tell that your measures are successful like so:
- Start a Command Prompt on the upstairs computer.
- Type these commands:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig

The last command must show an ip address of 192.168.0.xxx.
