internet properties 'general' tab missing

Hi all

What started out as a browser hijack, has removed the general tab under
internet properties (the one which has your home page, delete cookies etc in
it)
With Kelly's help I managed to reinstall ie6, hoping that would bring it
back but no joy.
I read somewhere it has something to do with 'dontload' under 'IsInstalled'
in the registry but haven't figured that out yet.
Does anyone know the best way to get it back?
I think the 'url' which caused it is a search engine called searchv.com.

Any help would be appreciated
