I have a fairly large folder c:\windows\Internet logs. Most of the
files in there have an extension of .tmp . Is there any reason why I
can't empty that folder?

Jerry

Do you have Zone Alarm? That folder holds Zone Alarm's event logging. The
safe way to clear it is by opening Zone Alarm and going to Alerts and Logs
(on the left hand side of the window.) Click the Advanced button on the
lower right of the Alerts and Logs property sheet and choose the Log Control
tab.

I do have Zone Alarm. I manually deleted all the files in the
directory that were labelled with ZA in their names (and shut off Zone
Alarm logging), but there are still many files left; many of them have
..tmp extensions.

The way to clear the Internet logs folder is to use Zone Alarm. When you
delete things manually, Zone Alarm may not be able to erase the contents in
the folder.

I do not believe that everyhting in that folder is from Zone Alarm.

They do all originate from ZoneAlarm but you won't get rid of the tmp
files in the way suggested. I just shut down ZoneAlarm and delete the
temp files.

Charlie.
