internet exporer error

ok i have a friend whos internet explorer wont open to
anyhing,first page is a 404 error(page not found)
then when he clicks on link to open home page on the dns
not found page it says nothing of intyrest here at
top,and thats it,is it a worm or a virus/?he can still
hook directly to other web sites for his online
gaming,but i assume they work because they are specific
ip adresses and not through internet explorer,

please please please help

Something's not right, that's for sure. Whether it's a virus, worm or
hijacker is hard to say.

A quick online check for adware, spyware, hijackers and other nasties:

Also there are links on the page leading to doxdesk.com, a site well-known
for documenting various parasites.
