Each time I load a page with Active X on it, a small message appears telling
me to "press the space bar to activate controls". How do I make that go
away?

My understanding is that you can't. This new behavior is because of the
EOLAS settlement. If you can't stand it, use a different browser.
Firefox is nice.

So where does that come from? A windows update?
