Hi,

1) Install, update, and run AdawareSE from www.lavasoft.de

2) Install and run Spybot from www.safer-networking.org

3) Install and run Spyware Blaster from
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

4) Turn on the native firewall or install a third-party one (a third party
firewall will notify you of outgoing traffic as spyware programs "phone
home", the native one won't).

done all of this before and still comes up. any other suggestions would be
appreciated.

Hi,

Click start/run, type msconfig and click ok. On the general tab, click
diagnostic mode. Click apply/ok and reboot. Does it still happen? If not,
then go back to msconfig, switch to selective startup and reenable one group
at a time, rebooting in between until you know which group the problem is
in. Once you know that, post back with which group for further instructions.

Alright! I got as far Load Start Up Items/Menu. Then it came back with a
vengenace. Can I leave it this way without the start up items. I have tried
it several times over the last few days and it hasnt effected anything as far
as I can see. What is the next step? thanks
Tracey "Tealee"

Hi,

Yes, you can leave it that way, but the next step is to load the startup
items but uncheck the majority of them on the startup tab. Recheck only a
few at a time until the problem comes back. This way you will know which
item or items are the cause.

Great Tealee, glad to hear it. Care to share what it was so the information
can be shared with others?
