internet explorer window fails to close

When I visit certain sites, I cannot close the window afterwards. The only way to close it would be with ctrl+alt+del. I have reinstalled and installed all SP's and patches, but to no avail. Internet Explorer keeps on blocking. This happens on different sites and sometimes the same site would do it and sometimes not. Site which i previously surfed easily, I cant exit from them now.
