Internet Explorer will not close

Have Windows XP, IE
Once IE6 is up and running I am unable to close it, other than by logging off or re-starting.
 
i'm kinda in the same position except that IE6 won't let me close any windows! once i've 15+ open i reboot due to the slow down - help!!!!!
