internet explorer v6

seems to hv problem accessing only https site. all other sites are ok. hv
downloaded the latest java software n still no help. currently using
windowsxp with latest updates.
 
IE, Tools, Internet Options, Security (TAB). Internet Zone should be
selected in the Zone - Which Security level is selected ?

Java Virtual Machine has no bearing on the ability to view https sites.
 
Start > Run, type "regsvr32 softpub.dll" (without the quotes) and try again
to access secure sites.

From a command prompt (Start ---> Run ---> cmd (click OK), type the

following:
netsh winsock reset
then hit enter, after confirmation, reboot. Now try the secure sites.

That's fine. I would also check the Advanced (TAB) of Internet
Options. Scroll down and check the option boxes for "Use SSL
and TLS" and make sure they are checked. A flushing of your
TIF (Temporary Internet Files) and clearing the SSL slate is also
something to do.

What active Security software do you use ? A/V, Firewall....
If you have an alternate account on the PC, can you access
Secure sites using that profile ?
 
I hv AVG and Norton but somehow the notron has been deactivated after I load
in the AVG. Don't hv an alternate account on the PC.
