I formatted just 12 hours ago. Reinstalled everything then suddenly I find 53 adware programs running, and I have no idea how they got there, as I had not downloaded anything. I removed them using Adaware, and ran a virus check but no viruses found. Each time i start Internet Explorer the CPU usage goes 40%. This can't be normal can it? I checked for blaster virus but nothing was found.

Do you have a firewall enabled, either XP's or a third-party's?
Try to disable everything in Start > Run > msconfig
startup tab
Reboot, and if the problem disappears, enable items one or two at a
time until you find the culprit.

Three steps you can take to improve your computer's security:

Good luck

No i havent got any firewalls active at all - i tried your site but nothing worked.

Just when it starts? Mine does too but once it's loaded it settles back down
to 0.
