and I am wondering how to fix the problem?

clean up with Adaware or spybot.

use personal firewall (Symantec, Zone Lab, etc.)
or follow microsoft security instruction
http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/
(they have link to free CA Antivirus & Firewall program)

use popup blocker(Google toolbar, askjeeves toolbar, etc.)
