Hi all
I am using Interent Explorer with all of the updates and Windows XP Home.
When I restart the computer I can not use the web, this is fixed by going to
Tools-> Internet Options -> Connections-> LAN Settings-> and then unticking
the box that says to use Proxy server. Once I have done this I can use the
web until I restart the computer again and I have to repeat the steps above.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks .

Well, you have something on your system that is setting up a proxy
server. Since you apparently didn't have this before (i.e., you are not
using Satellite for Internet connectivity), some program is doing this.
If you installed a pop-up/spam killer program or the like, then it may
be acting as a proxy. If not, then you need to scan with a current
antivirus program using updated definitions. After that, remove any
spyware with tools like Spybot S&D and/or Ad-aware.
