My mother is currently experiencing problems with the way web pages
are displayied in Internet Explorer. It is a Dell computer purchased a
couple of weeks ago. The webpages are displayed in only half the
window. It looks exactly like this http://www.canada.gc.ca/main_e.html
Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this? Any help would be
most appreciated.

Launch Internet Explorer and from the Toolbar select:
View > Text Size > Largest.

You can also adjust the Screen Resolution by right-clicking
on the Desktop and selecting: Properties > Settings and adjust
the Screen Resolution to a more suitable setting. Make sure
the Color Quality is set at Highest (32-bit).

This happens when pages are hard coded for an 800 x 600 display and your
window is wider than 800 pixels. It's the code on the page and there's
nothing you can do about it.
