Internet Explorer Links won't work

I have IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158. This doesn't happen all the
time, but when I click on links from within a page, they don't work and I get
an error message, "The page cannot be displayed." Usually, this happens when
I'm on one website, and the link will take me to another. However, even if I
type in the address manually or refresh the page, the link still doesn't
work. I'm not sure what's wrong...

Try the following and see if it helps:

Nothing happens when I click a link in IE



Go to Start>Run> and register the following dll's by using
regsvr32 command. Try the first 2, then see if it resolves the problem. If
not then register the rest of the .dll's:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll?
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 scrrun.dll?
regsvr32 msxml.dll?
regsvr32 mshtml.dll?
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll?
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 msjava.dll?

If that doesn't work, then check out the following article and do the
additional steps outlined

If these steps do not resolve your problem, or you need help with the above,

Wow, I'm so glad I saw this. I read the MS KB article and it solved a long
standing problem I've had with IE opening new windows and search from the
start menu not working!!!

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately, I tried what you had written before
but I still am having the same problem. For example, if I go to
www.doso.wayne.edu and try to vote for an artist, I get a popup window saying
that the page cannot be displayed, when it should show the results so far of
the voting. Any other suggestions?
