internet explorer error message

I get the error message... internet ex has encountered a problem...connection
crashes I have tried all the fixes that Microsoft suggests and have
uninstalled/reinstalled McaFee. I have run a virus check and Adaware. I still
have the problem. Help!

I have an addition. I tried to run Microsoft's malicious hardware scan and it
stops in the middle of the scan. ouch. the # on the error message is
dxtrans.dll

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

I have another problem " runtime error! This application has requested that
runtime terminate it in an unusual way.." Again I have tried rerunning
Notrton etc without success. Is tis due to a Virus? I have done nothing
obvious which might have caused this.

Mark,
You don't give much information, but...
The Google toolbar has caused a C++ Runtime Error on some systems. Uninstall
it from Control Panel> Add/remove programs to see if it was the culprit.

Other programs, such as spyware can cause the error you describe. Work
through Robear's "Help with Hijackware" links.
