Internet Explorer Does Not Open

I run WinXP Pro and have IE 6.0

Within the last few months, I have been receiving the following error:

I attempt to open IE and it does not always open. I look in the Task
Manager processes, and it shows iexplore.exe running, but never appears on
the screen. If I don't end the process manually, it never closes until
Windows goes to shut down and it asks me if I want to end the process at that
point.

Anyway, I'm not sure what could be causing this problem. It doesn't happen
every time I attempt to open IE, but I'd say at least 10 times per day. I am
not the only one that has this issue.

Any suggestions???

Chuck,

Do you have a pop-up blocker installed and running? Possibly that is what
is causing IE from not opening properly. Also if you have any type of
firewall running it may be blocking it as well. You may have to set an
exception within your firewall for IE if it was accidentally blocked by your
firewall app.
