An unauthorized web site has set itself as my default
home page. I have tried:
Resetting home page but when I shut down and power up
(cold boot) its back. A hot boot keeps my desired page
Deleted all cookies and temp files
Downloaded and run Ad-Aware
Unenabled 3rd party browser extensions
Under Internet Options - Programs - I have reset web
settings.

So far nothing works - any help out there?

I just had a similar problem... did you download that
darned smiley program recently, or another program...
these have *parasites* in them. (as I found out the hard
way!)

The first thing to do is to scan your system for the
possibility of unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that
may be causing your problem(s).

hope this helps! Michele

Thanks Michelle, but this did not work. Any other
thoughts? The new default web page is global explorer.

I followed instructions per the page. Cold boot again
brought me (and all other users in the family) to the
global explorer site.

Further thoughts?
