internet explorer annoying toolbar

hi guys

my internet explorer has a little illness in the form of an extra toolbar that pops up when i launch ie
there is a bar that appears just under the address bar that can be used to search stuff etc, and once that appears another chunky bar loads up at the bottom. it also resets my default homepage every time i open ie
i can get rid of the upper bar by disabling it in the view >toolbars menu, but it just appears again, with the other one when i next use it!

how do i get rid of this crap for good
 
These files are spyware that have gotten on to your computer.
Check your Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs for those program's
uninstall button to try to get rid of them.

If not then check this site on removing and cleaning these programs from
your computer.

Spybot - great tool against spyware/adware/browser hijackers (you
seem to have one of those)

Once you've installed it first search for updates and then download
the updates.
