Recently when I try to log on to the internet for any prigram I get the message, "Internet Explorer has experienced a problem and needs to shut down. We are sorry for any inconvience this may have caused you. It then asks me if I want to send a report to Microsoft. I can click yes, or no, and when I do it goes back to my original starting point and freezes up. This happened once before and instant support had me go to, Start, run, and type in a file name and remove it but I don't remember what it was, and now my instant support is not working. I am running an HP Pavillion 753N with XP home addition, I E-6 Browser Any help appreciated.

Hi,

It may be due to malware Browser Helper Objects (BHO). The temporary
solution is to disable third-party browser extensions in
Internet Explorer:

1. Click Start -> Run, type "Inetcpl.cpl" (without quotes)
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Under Browsing, uncheck the "Enable third-party browser extensions
(requires restart)" check box.
4. Restart Internet Explorer.

Then download some adware programs and remove the BHO completely. The
third-party products that are listed are manufactured by companies that are
independent of Microsoft. Microsoft makes no warranty, implied or
otherwise, regarding the performance or reliability of these products.

Use an automated removal tool

Some non-Microsoft tools exist that may be able to remove the deceptive
software program. Some of the companies that provide spyware or
unauthorized adware removal programs include the following companies:

1. Ad-Aware

Hope this helps ...... :)

Thanks,
I followed your instructions and so far, so good. Of course it has only been doing this periodically so it may take a day or two to know for sure. P.S. I am already running Ad-Aware.

Louis and all, this seems to be because of the latest "security" patch. I do not use auto-update and just updated IE this am and have COMPLETELY CRASHED 5 times today! I am Bill Gates' most active and hugest promoter. so have never been negative but this is UNACCETABLE!

Whatever MS has done with the "patch" needs to be undone but to find out how to do that I have to pay? I've already paid several thousands of dollars in the last 12 months to "upgrade", then had to pay more for the programs they thought I wasn't using but definitely need. I WILL NOT PAY FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR A PROGRAM THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE (ACCORDING TO COURT ORDER) FREE!

Bill/Melissa/MS, fix whatever programming errors there are because I will not spend any more of my time on this problem. I will move to LINUX and become your worst enemy through word of mouth (MOUSA certified)
