I am trying to share my dial up internet connection on a home network. I have
a desktop with XP Home, which connects to the internet. My laptop has XP Pro
and is connected through a wireless router. I have ICS set up to work, and my
laptop recognizes it, but some webpages fail to load, for example
www.weather.com and www.microsoft.com. AIM also fails to connect from my
laptop. The internet runs fine on the desktop. However, if i set my laptop to
be the host and it dials the internet, the internet then runs perfectly fine
on both computers. I have tried the MTU size thing and it doesnt fix it. What
is the problem? Would it be an XP home/pro issue where i should put Pro on my
desktop? Or is it something else?

The idea of trying to share a Dial-Up connection to the Net is a bad idea.

Both PC's are getting an IP address. Now, the conflict is probably coming
from your PC's getting 2 IP addresses, and Windows can only handle one. On
the one hand, yo u have your ISP's Address, and on the other you have your
LAN address. (Usually 192.168.2.XX). I'm guessing Windows can't decide
between the twp IP's, or one connection takes presedence ofer the other.
