Internet connection problem

My Toshiba laptop running XP Pro has been experiencing some problems....
Won't shut down properly (have to turn off using the power button).
Runs slowly at times but fine at others.
Most irritatingly I can't connect to the internet, via BT broadband, unless
I get a message from 'Debug manager' to send an error report. If I do this I
can usually get a connection straight afterwards but the 'Debug' message only
seems to appear randomly.
All these problems seem to be linked but help with any of them individually
is greatly appreciated. Type clearly and slowly...I know nothing!

You have multiple issues going on here. In part:

Check your settings here:

IE/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Disable Script Debugging and Display a
notification about every script error.

If you continue to get the errors after trying the above and/or the settings
become unchecked, rename mdm.exe
