internet connection gets disconnected

whenever i'm on-line and i recieve a phone call...i get disconnected. sometimes a box will appear and say you have just ignored an incoming call...sometimes a box will appear and say resume internet connection. only when the latter box appears...do i lose my connection. i can find nothing in my help files that pertains to this
please help...it's driving me nuts!

If you're on broadband, see if these apply:
Poor quality or faulty microfilters.
Phone not connected via microfilter.

what kind of connection do you have? Dial-up? Cable
My guess is dial-up since you say this happens when you get a phone call, which tells me that your phone line and internet line are one and the same
It's been a while since I messed with the dial-up settings, so I can't tell you where to find what you need, but what you have to do is,
a; get a seperate phone line for your computer, o
b; disable call waiting. It is found wherever you 'dialing rules' are located. Check internet options>connection... Sorry, I can't rememebr where it is.
