Internet connection dropped

Hello All,

Yesterday I installed an old Win 95 machine onto my business network. All
was working fine... full internet and email access over the LAN and no
problem reading files from the server.

Today, the internet and email connection has dropped. I can still lift files
off the server and see other computers and they can read the 95 machine too,
it's just the internet and email has gone.

I've got the ip address by winipcfg.exe and tried to ping it from another
computer but there is no response.

I use a Netgear DG824M broadband modem/router gateway as my DHCP server and
all the other network computers appear but not the Win 95 machine.

The only thing I can think is that the network card has some problem. Any
suggestions?

Thanks in advance

It is probably not the NIC. You might workaround the problem by
employing static IP addresses for static machines.

Thanks for responding. Found out what it was. The tcp/ip protocol had
"disappeared". All is working well now.

Thanks
