Internet browsing SLOW when Oulook is running.

Not only is Outlook downloading new messages slowly, but all other internet
traffic slows down as well. I run a download/upload meter, and can see that
Outlook is not hugging the bandwidth.

I have tried disabling addins, making a new pst file, reinstalling, detect
and repair, scanpst without any luck. The strange thing is that I'm running
the same settings on a separate machine without any problems.

I am running windows xp with sp2 and all other updates, ad ware free and
virus free.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
 
What do you show running in task manager?

Ok. Outlook is reporting 00 CPU and around 41,000 K MEM usage.

Besides Outlook, the following is running:

alg.exe, ashMaiSv.exe, ashServ.exe, aswUpdSv.exe, ati2evxx.exe,
atiptaxx.exe, avant.exe, cideamon.exe, cisvc.exe, csrss.exe, DUMeter.exe,
DXDebugSerivce.exe, expolorer.exe, inetinfo.exe, iPodService.exe, lsass.exe,
mdm.exe, msnmsgr.exe, rundll32.exe, services.exe, smss.exe, spnpinst.exe,
spoolsv.exe, spupdsvc.exe, svchost.exe (5 instances), SymWSC.exe,
sysocmgr.exe, System, System Idle Process, taskmgr.exe, wdfmgr.exe and
winlogon.exe

Long and and probably nasty. I tried terminating one process at a time and
was left with the processes above (whitch couldn't be terminated). The
problem is still there.
 
Looks like I'll try out the new Thunderbird instead.

I can't live with an email client that almost blocks my internet.

I doubt that Outlook is the root of your problem.
