is it possable to switch back to internet 7 --I want to buy McAfee Anti-Virus
and it downloads but the infomation box when clicked on stays blank -mcafee
says its the IE8 ? not sure Thanks for any and all help and advice Linda

Just uninstall IE8, which will revert you back to IE7.

Please note that many users have reported here that McAfee antivirus
is not compatible with Windows Mail.

Of the free antivirus programs, the ones that are compatible
with Windows Mail are:

AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
and
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

However, with either of those, during the install phase you must select
'custom' install, and then deselect the email scanning module so it won't install.

Thanks for the help Gary

Linda, to uninstall IE8, Control Panel>select Classic view (top
left)>programs and features>find IE 8 and remove it, I do not have IE8, so
not certain if it is in the min list, or if it appears in installed updates?
You will see that option if needed top left.

Regarding AV Application, no need whatever to purchase one!
I have used AVG Free for about 10 years.
See details that Gary posted for you to follow, regarding doing a custom
install.

Thanks thats just what i needed also the heads up on the AVG I'll do that now
the IE8 Locks up often and saves me some $ the ads scare people to death
saying we need all kind of xtra stuff thanks Linda

As I recall, IE8 has to be uninstalled from the Installed Updates section
of the Programs and Features applet.
