HI,

When I turn on my computer, it wont start-up. It just makes a humming
noise. If I turn off all power and leave it a few minutes it then sometimes
starts up as normal. It only does this about 1 in 3 attempts. What can it be
any ideas? I use XP home edition.

Hi,

Probably a bad power supply, but it could be other things as well. Unless
you are familiar with the internal components, I would suggest you take it
to a qualified technician in your area (a pc repair shop, not a regular
retailer).
