I know some people consider screensavers frivolous, but I found this one to
be an interesting one.

QSaver is one of those quote screensavers. However, rather than a merely
static display of quotes at periodic intervals this one has dynamic text
effects -- waves, spins, scrambled, etc. You can also set your own images as
backgrounds to the quotes for a personal touch.

On the same site is a simpler one called Opacity that simply blends one
image into another at an interval you specifiy. Also very nice.

QSaver is a big install and Opacity doesn't work out of the box.

Umm, what are you running? Win3.1 on a first gen Pentium?

QSaver is a 1.8 M download and takes up about the same amount of hard drive
space. Opacity worked just fine for me too -- right out of the box.

No, I'm running XP-Pro-SP2 with a P4 3.2ghz CPU.

Yes I noticed that but the zipfile has a lot of stuff in for a mere
screensaver - maybe 35-40 files. OTT for a screensaver?

When I unzipped it and tried to start it, I got an error.
