Hi
Using Access2003 with a Front End on each machine (all running Windows XP
Pro) with a backend placed on the server of the peer to peer server.
Situation: Taking information from an outlook message and storing it in
temporary back-end table for user to manually select when to process the
temporary records. Process will empty temporary table.
Only one machine gets the outlook messages and therefore the initial
processing of putting info into temp Access tables happens at this point.
I want to :
1. do XXX to notify all users that there are temporary records to be
processed. XXX - some action which I am looking for answers for.
2. Once the temporary records have been processed, turn OFF/ change state /
something on each users machine to know that processing has been done. I
don't want the notification to be too annoying, but something that when they
open / re-activate their front end, if the processing has been done the old
messages / whatever are not there.
Suggestions please:
I have thought that disabling/enabling a menu option from their customised
menu would be handy, but it has to be quite noticeable. I'm not sure if
this is possible even.
TIA for your help
Michelle
