Intellipoint & Intellitype Pro 5 Won't Install

I recently purchased the Wireless Optical Desktop Elite
Keyboard and Mouse bundle. I've tried to install the
software that came with the package to enable the extra
buttons and features on the products. When I try to run
the setup.exe file for either Intellipoint or Intellitype
Pro, it starts the process... and I get a 'Working in
background' cursor, and then the "Setup.exe" process is
terminated. I don't know whats causing this, but I've
tried it on my system running on my old HDD(has XP
installed from some months ago) as well as my current HDD
setup which is a Striped RAID array. I have also tried it
on my notebook from work, and it works fine with that. ...
I am thinking of reformatting, does anyone think this will
fix it... or do you think it is a hardware issue? Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same keyboard/mouse combo, and happily installed the software
with no trouble. Make sure you let the disk autostart and choose the
software to install from the menu which will be displayed. Don't start the
setup process by browsing to setup.exe on the CD
