Intellimouse problems

Hi.

I just recently bought a new Microsoft wireless keyboard and optical mouse
package and installed it the way it told me. The problem is that the mouse
seems a tiny bit "laggy" for just a fraction of a second. It also seems
unsmooth and unpredictable. Everything else seems fine.
I've already tried the "connect" button on the receiver and the bottom of
the mouse but the problem persists.
Both ends of the receiver are connected via PS/2.
Can anyone help?

Good morning, Deyveed. Saw your question when getting ready to post one of my own. Assume you got a CD-ROM with your hardware. Once it's installed, you should be able to click on the mouse properties and make your operating preference (i.e. the mouse's rate of speed, scrolling rates, etc., etc.). There are a bunch of tabs in the properties window. Hope this helps.
