Intellimouse explorer 3.0 scrolls whenever i move/click the mouse

Just installed intellipoint 5.0 with no problems yesterday.

Today I got a intellimouse explorer 3.0, because old optical mice spaz
out in FPS games. Once installed, I couldn't use it at all. Every time
I move the mouse or click any button, the mouse views it as an input
from the "mouse wheel up" input. I try to click a link in a web page
and i go to the top. I try to set up my buttons in the mouse setup and
need to do it via the keyboard.

I downgraded to intellipoint 4.1 and then upgraded back to 5.0.

Nothing so far

Checked Event Viewer to see if the Windows File Protection (a.k.a., SFC or
System File Checker) did any "corrections" for you? It does sound like a
messed up driver. Downgrading won't work if WFP already knows about newer
versions. There might be a command line switch to the Setup application to
force an install for certain situations.

Can't really give you any firsthand advice. Best of luck.
