My laptop gives the the alternative of allowing Windows XP (home) or Intel
PROSet to manage the wireless network.

Which is better or does it matter?

Thank you.

It's a personal preference. I always have my clients go with Windows
managing the wireless. Makes it easier to fix and diagnose over the phone,
since I can't necessarily see what their Intel software is showing to them.

I think Windows XP(SP2) is better than ProSet . If you don't have SP2, you'd
better choice PROSet.

The drivers are from Intel anyway. (the same) PROSet has the bells and whistles.
