When I goto Instal windows XP home, it asks for "Intel
applicatiopn accelerator Driver" on a floppy, and I
cannot find a version that fits. It won't take a CD, and
It's starting to piss me off. I canot get on it, and
It's stuck between formatting the hard drive, and
installing windows. Ideas on what I should do would be
very helpful.

This doesn't sound like a clean install of XP as the IAA is something
installed afterwards.
You can download it from Intel's web site.

It is used to set disk access mode, disk power management and accoustic
characteristics.
Be warned the version on intel's web site no longer supports laptops.

If you are not installing a Raid configuration you don't need that , just
continue on.
True, you shouldn't need the Application Accelerator to
run Windows.

As the website: http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/IAA/
says,

The Intel® Application Accelerator is a software package that replaces the
ATA drivers that come with Windows* with drivers optimized for desktop PCs
using select Intel® chipsets. This software package is not a requirement for
your operating system to work properly.

What does it do?

It reduces the storage sub-system bottleneck, enabling the processor and
other system level hardware to be more productive and efficient.

If you are upgrading to XP:
The following steps can be taken prior to upgrading to Windows XP: (they
really mean should, not can be)
1.. Uninstall the Intel Application Accelerator prior to upgrading to
Windows XP. Uninstalling the Intel Application Accelerator can be done by
completing the instructions listed in section 8.12 of the Intel® Application
Accelerator User's Manual document.
2.. After you have successfully upgraded to Windows XP, simply reinstall
the Intel Application Accelerator.

Hope this helps.
