Integrating schedules

I'm working on a project that has input from multiple functional departments.
One of the departments has a detailed Project schedule. I'm wondering what is
the best way to incorporate his input. Should I take detail items from his
schedule? Or milestones? Or both? And then link them so I can get a critical
path? What's best practice?

I suspect you're asking in the wrong place. This forum is for the Microsoft
Access database product. Are you using Microsoft Project? Some other project
software? An Access database with project information?
