Is there a walk through proceedure I can follow to see what I'm missing ???

I've fitted the new laptop drive (pata) and its seen in Bios. Everything
looks ok until I'm prompted during the XP install partition/format the
drive. It gets through about 90% of the apparent format and says unable to
format drive???

:o(

Possible heat problem, or perhaps, flaky RAM. May bite you later if so.

Hadnt considered the ram as it was last years upgrade, I'll reseat it to
make sure its not loose.

This laptop has never got particularly warm and the fans still ok, but its
been so hot I wouldnt be surprised if its affected it.
