I am currently using W2k and am thinking of going to XP. Should I
expect any problems with older software, eg MS Office 97.

Hi,

Actually, you would likely have fewer problems, as WinXP's backwards
compatibility is much better than Win2K's. Office97 runs fine in XP, just
make sure to install the service packs.

Hi,

Suggest you also go to hardware mfg web sites to take a look of their
hardware compatibility with XP, and use the chance to download their drivers
for XP.

First, make sure your hardware and device are ready (with drivers, BIOS
updates - if needed).

Second, do the same for, at least, software that you used most often. See
if they have any patches, fixes, and updates tailored to XP.

Finally, make sure to back up important data and files before taking
actions.

It won't hurt you to be prepared :)

Gook luck and hope this helps.

In addition - make sure you've run antivirus scan, Spybot and AdAware scans
for malware - also helps to defrag.

Sincerely, Len.
