installing XP

Hello!

At this moment I have Windows Millenium running on my PC. I want to install XP, and want to format one of my two hard disks... When I boot from the XP-cd, everything goes well , but when the "checking hardware"-screen occurs, there is an errormessage saying: (in Dutch: Regel 34 van INF-bestand \$win-nt$.~BT\winnt.sif is ongeldig) Line 34 of INF-file \$win-nt$.~BT\winnt.sif is invalid. What does this mean? Can anybody help me

It may be that you have hardware that wont work with xp, or a corrupt sif
file.
Have you tried running xp compatibility checker?, I believe its located on
xp disk
