Some time ago during an install of Windows XP Pro, I was asked for my name &
also for my company name, which I entered, I now need to change the "company
name" is this possible without reinstalling windows?
Thanks for any replies.

If you are inclined to do so use regedit and search for company name and
keep hitting f3 until you have found all instances and it says
finished.... thats if your bored. I am sure there is an app out there
somewhere.

From Start | Run | enter Regedit, click OK. Navigate to this

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\RegisteredOrganization

Right click Registered organization, choose Modify and type in the name you
want.

For an automated edit get it from Doug Knox' site:

To fix the "Registered to" information for WinNT/2K/XP, you can use
Start > Run > Regedit.exe to edit:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\RegisteredOwner

and:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current
Version\RegisteredOrganization

How this will affect the name displayed in previously installed
applications will vary depending upon each individual program; some read
the registered owner information dynamically, while others read it only
during their installation.

Actually, the registered owner and company information appear in a lot
of places, especially during the installation process of other
applications, and in most Microsoft applications.
