installing XP over NT

I would like to install XP in my computer which is running NT 4.0 with
service pack 6 I'm concerned that the only colors listed for NT is 256,
65536 color and true color. will I need to install a new video card or will
XP run. Thanks

On the XP CD, and on the MS Site. there's an Upgrade Advisor. This will
test your system and software for compatibility.

That's probably the easiest way to start figuring out what is needed.
