Hello:

I am trying to install XP home over 98 second edition.
After starting the setup program from the file manager, XP
will analyze my system. After about 10-15 minutes it comes
back and says I do not have enough disk space to continue
and I have to stop the install. Everytime I run the
install I get a different disk space required number and
it seems to increment everytime I run the program. The
number first started in the high 700MBs and is now around
948MB required. I have cut everything that I can. The
drive is a 2Gb partition. Why is the disk space required
number continuing to increase? How can I get the install
going. Command Line?

The reason for your problem is that Windows XP needs
1.5 g/b just to install windows system. It needs between
400 & 500 m/b for the installation files. You need to
install a larger H/D or increase the size of your
partition to handle the installation files plus have
enough room for Windows installation...
