Can XP home edition be installed on 2 home computers off
of the same disk without extra cost.

Thanx, Bart

Greetings --

Of course not. As it has *always* been with *all* Microsoft
operating systems, it's necessary (to be in compliance with both the
EULA and copyright laws, if not technically) to purchase one WinXP
license for each computer on which it is installed. The only way in
which WinXP licensing differs from that of earlier versions of Windows
is that Microsoft has finally added a copy protection and anti-theft
mechanism, Product Activation, to prevent (or at least make more
difficult) the sort of multiple installations you're asking about.

Bart,

Windows XP like all other previous versions of Windows is licensed, one
copy/license per PC.
You see this on the End User License Agreement that you see and press I
Agree to when you install Windows.
If you wish to install Windows XP to another PC then you need to purchase
another license/copy of the product.

A feature of XP is that you have to pay for each PC that you put it on.
