Hi,

When I try to install windows on a fresh harddrive the
system stops responding when it gets to the "Installing
Windows" screen. It tells me I have 39 minutes to go, and
it will just sit there. I've tried just about everything
I can think of. I've already formated the HD, and
partitioned it. The harddrive is fully funcional. I am
wondering if there is any advice I can get regarding
this. I've searched high and low with no luck. For
refernce I'm running a Penitum 1.7, and the HD is a
Seagate 80gig. Thanks in advance.

Physically disconnect all your peripheral hardware devices,
except for the monitor, mouse and keyboard, then try again.

How do you know the hard drive is "fully functional"? Did you use the
Seatools diagnostic? Also, do a hardware test of your RAM - I like
Memtest86. Usually Windows clean installation failures are because of
problematic hardware.
