Hi,
I have a laptop. Unfortunately the CD and floppy drive do not work. I need
to install windows XP. when I start the laptop I am able to go to the XP
recovery console and get to the C> prompt. I also have the entire xp install
files in a folder on the hard drive and can get to it. Is there a way I can
install XP from this folder through the System recovery console?
Thanks

'installation source' and you'll have to stop the hard disc fro
booting

The installation source can be just about anything that hold's th
installation programme, at the beginning of reformatting o
installation 'basic drivers' are installed...whether it will allo
you to install from a USB source I've never tried

I don't know if this will help it tell's you how to install from th
i386 folder-

A PC/laptop really needs at least one bootable device. Get one that
